INDUSTRY.co.id - The Hannover Messe 2021 is expected to strengthen the economies of Germany and Indonesia, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said.
“I hope that the exhibition can contribute to strengthening the economies and development of the two countries,” the Chancellor said in her virtual remarks at the opening of the Hannover Messe 2021, Monday (12/04).
Merkel said that in 2022 Indonesia will host the G20 Summit, at a time when Germany will also host the G7 Summit, and the opportunities could strengthen strategic cooperation of the two countries.
Merkel also said that Indonesia is a strong partner country for Germany, not only at the Hannover Messe, but also in other event such as the Berlin international tourism exhibition.
She added that Indonesia is not only known as a tourism destination but also as the country for innovation, technological transformation, and vocational education.
The German Chancellor also welcomed President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s invitation to work hand in hand in developing digital transformation in Indonesia.
Indonesia’s participation in the Hannover Messe is in line with the strategic initiative of the national industrial road map “Making Indonesia 4.0” launched by President Jokowi on 4 April 2018.
Under the theme of “Making Indonesia 4.0” and the tagline of “Connect to Accelerate”, all stakeholders in Indonesia work together in the event to support industrial growth in the country while simultaneously introducing the country’s capabilities in the field of manufacturing technology and digital infrastructure.
Indonesia’s participation as a partner country at the Hannover Messe is supported by 156 exhibitors, including Government Ministries and Agencies, State-Owned Enterprises, universities, and national private companies. (FID/Public Relations of Ministry of Foreign Affairs/UN)
