President Jokowi Inaugurates General L.B. Moerdani Hospital in Merauke

INDUSTRY.co.id - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inaugurated Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) General L.B. Moerdani Modular Hospital in Merauke regency, Papua province, on Sunday (03/10).
“Alhamdulillah, this afternoon, the TNI General L.B. Moerdani Hospital is already established and ready to serve the community, especially the community of Merauke regency,” the President said in his remarks.
The Head of State said that the establishment of modular hospital is completed very fast, only in 20 days, and it was initially intended to serve COVID-19 patients in Papua province, especially in Merauke regency.
“Since COVID-19 cases now are going down, the number of cases has dropped, the hospital can support the 20th National Sports Week (PON XX) in Papua, and then it can provide services to the community after the National Sports Week ends.
As mentioned by President Jokowi, the TNI General L.B. Moerdani Hospital has complete facilities, such as rooms for patients, radiology, and pharmacy.
“The hospital has facilities for isolation, quarantine, laboratory, emergency, operation theater, and also pharmacy to handle patients who need fast, easy, and affordable health services,” he said.
The President added that in the current pandemic, health facilities are highly needed, especially by people in remote areas.
Therefore, the people can get hospital services whenever they have health problems.
“This hospital should be used properly to serve all communities with fast and comfortable services,” he said.
For the record, the inauguration was also attended by high-rank officials such as Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani, Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia, Commander of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Regent of Merauke Romanus Mbaraka.
