“Thank God, the construction of various infrastructure to support tourism in Labuan Bajo has been completed and Labuan Bajo is ready to welcome the arrival of tourists,” he said.

According to the President, after the massive planning and construction carried out by Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing and Ministry of Transportation, the face of Labuan Bajo has completely changed.

“We also see that hotels, souvenir centers, creative hubs, amphitheaters, plazas, citywalks, and other public places have all been repaired. I notice that the difference is stark. Tourism-supporting infrastructure, such as roads around the areas and harbors that specifically serves pinisi ships, yachts, and cruises, is also ready,” he said.

The Head of State pointed out that after the inauguration today, the important things that must be done immediately are to promote the tourism areas massively and prepare Labuan Bajo for national and international events.

“It will support the G20 Summit and it will also be used for ASEAN Summit in 2023,” he remarked.

For the record, the arrangement of Waringin Peak National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) began in August 2019 and finished in March 2021 with an arranged area of 0.39 hectares.
