INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, January 11, 2022 - PT Yelooo Integra Datanet Tbk (“YELO”), a technology issuer in the field of providing communication technology equipment and connectivity services, continues to expand its services in line with their 2022 business transformation plans.
Earlier this year, YELO officially acquired 49% shares of PT Telemedia Communication Pratama (TKP) for Digital ISP (Internet Service Provider) to accelerate their expansion and bring fast internet. PT Telemedia through Viberlink is a Digital ISP engaged in bringing fast internet to all corners of rural areas using fiber optic cables that stretch along the island of Java.
The President Director of YELO, Wewy Susanto stated, “YELO’s presence has transformed the TKP business model into a Digital ISP. This means that the entire operational process will be transferred through digital channels, the user experience of connectivity services will therefore be more attractive and rich in other features.”
This acquisition demonstrates YELO’s commitment to bringing up to 1 GB high- speed internet to remote villages in Indonesia. Thus, educational activities, agriculture, and creative industries can develop rapidly in order to improve the local village economy.
This step is in accordance with the commitment of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) in building connectivity infrastructure in all remote villages in Indonesia in order to accelerate digital transformation in the Frontier, Outermost and Disadvantaged (3T) areas.
Previously, the Government through the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, had issued a budget of Rp. 21 trillion to the Ministry of Communications and Informatics for a commitment to build connectivity infrastructure in all remote villages in Indonesia.
In line with that, YELO also seeks to accelerate the procurement and development of internet access in remote areas by providing fast and affordable internet access solutions.
"Considering the increasing demand for internet, the Company continues to accelerate the development of fiber optic- based internet infrastructure that stretches across Java Island for villages in tier-2 and tier-3 areas." Wewy said.
Coupled with the joining of the former Director of Indosat (ISAT) with YELO at the EGMS held on January 5, 2022, which appointed Fadzri Sentosa as President Commissioner of YELO, YELO's expansion is expected to increase in speed and massiveness.
This goal is in line with the Company's plan to build a Connectivity-based Digital Ecosystem as well as a preparation for a fast and affordable internet connection for the Metaverse World that will come in the near future.
Wewy added that the corporate action was taken to help business actors and start-ups to prepare for various connectivity challenges and be able to adapt to technological developments such as Metaverse in the future.
“The Metaverse technology sphere in developed countries, no longer consider internet infrastructure a problem. Meanwhile, in developing countries like Indonesia, especially in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, it is still an unresolved issue because Indonesia is an archipelagic country.” close Wewy.
