INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, – PT Alkindo Naratama Tbk (“ALDO”), a listed company engaged in the integrated paper and chemical business are optimistic that the Company's performance in 2023 will improve, in line with the growing demand for products made of recycled brown paper and the strong relationship between the Company and corporate customers.

ALDO's optimism for the 2023 prospect is in line with Bank Indonesia's view that the value of e-commerce transactions will continue to rise until 2024. BI Governor Perry Warjiyo estimates that the total value of e-commerce transactions in 2022 will reach IDR 489 trillion, then increase to IDR 572 trillion in 2023, and will increase again to IDR 689 trillion in 2024.* In this case, the increase in e-commerce transactions also means that there will be an increase in the need for paper packaging for goods sold through these e-commerce transactions.

Therefore, ALDO is optimistic that sales in 2023 can grow more than double, along with the operation of the Company's new machines which are expected to start operating commercially early next year.

It is planned that the Company will begin the process of commissioning new machines to increase the production capacity of recycled brown paper on December 15, 2022.

Commissioning is the process of ensuring that all systems and components of the new machine comply with the operational requirements planned.

"After the commissioning goes smoothly, the production capacity of recycled ALDO brown paper will increase to 220,000 tons per year from the current production capacity of around 80,000 tons per year. We are optimistic that the market opportunities for products made from recycled brown paper will continue to grow along with increasing public awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability," said ALDO's Main Director, H. Sutanto.
