President Jokowi Welcomes ASEAN Foreign Ministers at Merdeka Palace

INDUSTRY.co.id - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Friday (02/03) at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta received a courtesy call from ASEAN Foreign Ministers and ASEAN Secretary General Kao Kim Hourn.

The arrival of ASEAN Foreign Ministers and the ASEAN Secretary General was welcomed by the President himself in the Merdeka Palace’s Credentials Room.

The Foreign Ministers are, among others, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos Saleumxay Kommasith, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam Dato’ Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Dato’ Seri Raja Dr. Zambry bin Abd. Kadir, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Philippine Enrique Austria Manalo, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Don Pramudwinai, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam Bui Thanh Son.

Afterwards, President Jokowi, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers and the ASEAN Secretary General, together headed to the back veranda of Merdeka Palace to take a group photo.

After taking a group photo, the President held a meeting with the guests in the Oval Office of the palace. In his remarks, President Jokowi expressed appreciation and welcomed ASEAN Foreign Ministers and the ASEAN Secretary General.

“Welcome to Jakarta for the first ministerial meeting under Indonesia’s leadership,” the President remarked.
