The award ceremony was held at the Dhanapala Building, Ministry of Finance, Jakarta, Monday (20/03/2023) morning.

In his remarks the President revealed that various parties considered Indonesia to be a country that had succeeded in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only is it considered capable of reducing the number of COVID-19, Indonesia is also considered to be able to maintain stability and economic growth.

"In June 2022, WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom said that the handling of COVID-19 in Indonesia was among the best and the vaccination coverage was also among the best. It is not us who are speaking, it is the Director General of WHO who is speaking. Then in September 2021, Johns Hopkins University also announced that Indonesia is one of the best in the world in reducing COVID-19 cases. It's not us who are speaking, it's not us who are speaking, they are speaking," said the President.

"I really see that all of us from A to Z are all working hard to deal with COVID-19. And, many parties who work risk themselves. Many of our health workers have died in handling COVID-19, many parties have worked beyond their duties and functions, the TNI and Polri have gone beyond their duties and functions, many parties have volunteered for our safety together, and there are many lessons that we can learn. while dealing with COVID-19," he said.

The President added that the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated the extraordinary strength of Indonesia as a large nation. This power, continued the President, not only can be used for all the nation's big agendas but can also be used to deal with other diseases such as tuberculosis, handling stunting , increasing food production, and reducing poverty.
