INDUSTRY.co.id - Yogyakarta - Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Board of Muhammadiyah Faturrahman Kamal hopes the momentum of Eid al-Adha can inspire people to build social sensitivity.

"It should be interpreted as a moment to sharpen the sensitivity to social issues, to teach empathy and affection toward each other," said Faturrahman in Eid al-Adha sermon in North Square, Yogyakarta, Friday (1/9/2017)

According to Faturrahman, besides the dimension of the trensenden ritual that gave birth to individual piety, the sacrificial worship was also horizontal dimension of humanity which gave birth to social piety.

"Consider what we must do with the sacrificial flesh," the widespread human solidarity is increasingly felt and we are constantly reinforcing the relationships between people," he said.

Eid al-Adha momentum, he said, as well as a community opportunity to imitate the nature and character of Prophet Ibrahim.

Prophet Ibrahim was given the title by Allah SWT as "ummah". Simply predicate that can be interpreted as the figure of ideal leaders who enlighten and universal example of human beings and can realize serenity and prosperity.

He has the main character that needs to emulate the people of Indonesia today, the character of clever grateful.

In the context of Indonesia, according to Faturrahman, gratitude is not only a theological-transcendent dimension, but also actualized in real life by spreading the good to anyone regardless of group, tribe, race, even religion.

Gratitude, he said, can also be realized by avoiding corrupt attributes and attitudes that are only concerned with the group and away from the things that can trigger hostility among others.

"The Indonesian people actually have the virtues of excellence to be superior and highly civilized among the values that are resistant to suffering, fighting power, prioritizing harmony and mutual cooperation," he said.
