INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Indonesian Democratic Party (PDI) of the Struggle denounces the persecution of Rohingyas in Myanmar, recently.
"The PDI Perjuangan urges the Indonesian government to immediately provide humanitarian aid and diplomacy measures," said Secretary General of PDI Perjuangan Hasto Kristiyanto in Jakarta, Saturday (2/9/2017)
Crimes of humanity, he added, cannot be allowed, must be stopped.
PDI Perjuangan fully supports the government's efforts through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to act quickly by coming to Myanmar soon.
At the same time, Hasto said, the PDI-P encouraged the government to provide humanitarian aid and immediately diplomacy to convince the Burmese government to find a peaceful way to resolve the issue.
Indonesia as "Big Brother" in ASEAN, according to him, should take the initiative on the conflict Rohingya.
The basis is very strong, namely the foreign policy of Indonesia free of active to realize world peace. On behalf of the ideals of peace as the implementation of the second principle of humanity or internalizationalism, active initiatives must be taken, including urging the Myanmar government to immediately stop violence against its citizens.
The PDI Perjuangan argues that rapid and effective diplomatic action through ASEAN is essential to prevent further violence.
"The PDI Perjuangan will take part in the solidarity movement as a moral force to prevent further violence in Rohingya," Hasto said.
