Donation West Java Cares Rohingya Reach Rp1, 2 Billion

INDUSTRY.co.id - Bandung - The fund-raising action from the people of West Java until Friday afternoon managed to collect more than Rp1, 2 billion to be given to help victims of violence experienced by Rohingya community in Myanmar.

"Alhamdulillah, in just one day, the collected funds have reached more than Rp1, 2 billion," said West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan while participating in solidarity action for Rohingya Muslims in Gedung Sate, Bandung, Friday (08/09/2017)

He said that the funds collected through the BJB account is only temporary, is expected to continue to grow, and greater after combined with other areas that perform similar action in West Java.

The newly collected funds, he said, come from various parties, such as communities, OPD in West Java Provincial Government, infak and alms from West Java Province civil servants, as well as various other parties.

He conveyed the people of West Java who want to donate assistance can still be done by transferring money to account number BJB 2345-6789-1000-1 on behalf of Jabar Peduli.

The funds raised, said the Governor, will be channeled officially to government agencies, as well as through a trusted donation agency in the humanitarian movement.

"There is a Duafa Wallet, PKPU there, Daarut Tauhid, there are various things there, there is Lazis NU, Lazis, Muhamayadiyah, Lazis PUI there, and so forth, it is incorporated," he said.

The fundraising for the Rohingya Muslims was led by the Governor of West Java.

The solidarity action, said the Governor, to convey the message that the people of West Java care about the citizens Rohingya and condemned all acts of violence.

"All of them support the Rohingyas, all of them calling for violence against the Rohingyas to be stopped," he said.
