INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani said Indonesia is ready to cooperate and contribute in the field of technology science to member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
"We welcome the cooperation agenda of science and technology among members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which we can immediately do is cooperation in education, training and research," said Puan in his written statement received in Jakarta on Saturday / 9/2017)
Puan, accompanying Vice President Jusuf Kalla, who attended the OIC Conference on Science and Technology Development in Astana, Kazakhstan, said that the research on communication technology development, construction, energy, agriculture and maritime in Indonesia is quite advanced and can contribute within the framework of science and technology of OIC countries.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla wants Islamic countries to better implement science and technology (Iptek) so as not to be left behind with other countries.
"We are in OIC there are too many conventions, discussions, seminars, we want to implement one by one," said the vice president.
He said that in fact the technology in Islamic countries is quite good and advanced as in Kazakhstan, Turkey, Iran and Pakistan.
Therefore, as a country incorporated in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the large population should be able to implement the technology.
The science and technology conference of OIC countries intends to formulate a strategy and a common agenda to reduce the gap of science and technology progress between OIC and developed countries.
The OIC Summit aims to map out the strategy of Islamic countries in the field of science and technology in the next 10 years to narrow the gap between science and technology between Muslim and developed countries.
Indonesia at the summit will also present its views on science, technology and human development.
The summit series has been started since Friday (8/9), through discussions of high-ranking officials of each country.
