Coordinating Minister for PMK Ensures the Handling of Lombok-Bali-Sumbawa Earthquake Victims

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani said that his office is monitoring and coordinating with ministries and agencies to provide handling for the victims of the earthquake in Lombok, Bali and Sumbawa.
"I monitor the devastating earthquakes that occurred in Lombok, Bali and Sumbawa today and have ordered relevant agencies both at the center and in the region to continue to coordinate providing assistance to the victims," said Coordinating Minister Puan in a press statement received in Jakarta on Sunday (29/7).
She appealed to residents who were in the quake-affected areas to follow directions and directions from field officers so that the impact of aftershocks could be anticipated and the potential for the victims could be minimized.
"Both Basarnas and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) are already at the site of the earthquake and I ask the community to comply with the instructions and directions given so that mitigation measures for aftershocks can be done," said Puan.
In addition, Coordinating Minister Puan also asked the public to be careful in sharing information related to the earthquake disaster that occurred in NTB today.
Puan said that the public should not disseminate invalid information so that it can disrupt the process of handling the victims.
"To obtain information, the public can see on the official website of BNPB and Basarnas that are regularly updated based on conditions in the field and do not trust and even disseminate information that is not true so that it can complicate the process of handling victims," she explained.
A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck the Lombok, Bali and Sumbawa areas on Sunday at 05.47 am and followed by aftershocks.
BMKG recorded 66 times aftershocks until 09:20 pm. smaller quake and no tsunami potential. This earthquake has caused loss of life and physical damage.
