President Jokowi Asks to Change the Paradigm of Profit Farmers Problem

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - President Joko Widodo requested that there be a change of paradigm related to how to increase profits for farmers through agribusiness process.

"If we want to give big profits to the farmers, once again our paradigm must be changed, must enter the business sector, agribusiness sector," said President Joko Widodo in the opening of a limited meeting (ratas) at the Presidential Office Jakarta, Tuesday (12 / / 2017)

The Ratas discussed "Coorporating Farmers" followed by Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Agriculture and Spatial Planning / Head of National Land Agency Sofyan Djalil, Minister of National Planning and Development (PPN) / Head of Bappenas, Bambang Brodjonegoro.

"This paradigm is what we want to do so that the farmers should have their own seed industry, have modern production applications, now it is not expensive, have modern mills, this price is also not expensive if 'backed up' by banking origin of the calculations 'feasible', from the bank entry there and calculated 'bankable'," said President.

The meeting also discussed some groundbreaking steps in order to improve the welfare of farmers.

Even so, the President admitted that he did not underestimate the cultivation sector related to seeds, fertilizers to insecticides.

The discussion on agribusiness follows the President's visit to PT BUMR Interconnected Food on September 1, 2017. Co-operative rice processing rice that is done in modern, processed rice is also packed in an attractive and modern form that can be directly marketed to consumers.
