INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- The government needs to create an effective large strategy related to palm oil commodity which is one of the leading export goods owned by the national economy.
"The government should have a grand strategy or a national oil map," said Member of Commission IV of Hamdhani in a release on Wednesday (20/09/2017)
According to him, palm oil production is proven to overcome the economic disparities of people in a number of areas such as between in Java and outside Java.
Nasdem Party politicians also warned that Malaysia as a competitor country has a standard rule so that if Indonesia does not make the right regulation then it is possible that the position of RI as the ruler of crude palm oil market can be shifted.
As it was proclaimed, Indonesia could lose its market in India if the government did not immediately conduct bilateral negotiations following the imposition of two-fold import duties on crude palm oil (CPO) and processed palm products to countries in the South Asian region.
"In addition to large markets, India is not a fussy market demanding sustainability criteria such as Europe or the US Unfortunately we are losing potential markets," said Joko Supriyono, Chairman of the Indonesian Palm Oil Business Association (Gapki) in his written statement following event of Indonesia-Indonesia Business Forum on Palm Oil in Mumbai, Wednesday (13/9).
