INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Batik cloth is the pride of the Indonesian nation that reflects the ancestral cultural treasures. In order to recognize batik more closely as one of Indonesia's cultural heritage, Oey Soe Tjoen Batik Exhibition for Culture, a legendary batik origin in Kedungwuni, Pekalongan, whose collection has always been the target of domestic and foreign collectors.
The exhibition was held from 22 to 24 September 2017, at Tugu Kunstkring Paleis - Jakarta. the exhibition features about 40 pieces of Oey Soe Tjoen's masterpiece of Batik Art, with a coastal motif that has always been characteristic, such as the bouquet of flowers, butterflies, and birds, and the age of cloth that reaches nearly 100 years.
"Batik Tulis by Oey Soe Tjoen is a masterpiece of Indonesian batik. The beauty of motif, design, and coloring technique that is reflected in every piece of cloth represents the local wisdom of the Indonesian nation. This exhibition we held to get a closer to Batik Tulis masterpiece Oey Soe Tjoen which has become a legend and contribute greatly in the treasures of Indonesian culture, "said Executive Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility BCA Inge Setiawati, Friday (22/09/2017).
At the Exhibition, a number of 4 pieces of Batik Tulis cloth by Oey Soe Tjoen latest is also auctioned specifically for customers of BCA Solitaire. Enliven the Exhibition, designer Benny Adrianto helped sell wayang golek "Djawa" which molded by Wastra Nusantara Batik various regions. Not to forget, the exhibition visitors are also spoiled with a collection of kebaya and sarong encim by Dewi Nugroho from Batik Museum Jogja by Buana Alit Gallery, as well as a collection of ethnic accessories archipelago by Manjusha Nusantara.
"The philosophical value implied in a Batik cloth makes it a work of art that has a high selling value in the domestic and international markets. Our hope is that this exhibition can contribute to bringing back the Batik cloth by Oey Soe Tjoen which is not only high quality, but also represents the soul and identity of the Indonesian nation, "Inge added.
