TNI Must Professional Implement Maritime Shaft Nawacita

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Member of House of Representatives Commission I Bobby Rizaldi said that in the 72nd anniversary of the TNI, the President must always keep the institution professional and not in the realm of practical politics in accordance with Law 34 of 2004 on TNI.

"It needs a commitment from the President regarding the addition of defense budget so that TNI can focus on its defense tasks, strengthen the posture of defense and integration with the country's political policy," Bobby said in Jakarta on Thursday (5/10/2017)

He hopes TNI in the future should be more professional in implementing maritime aerial nawacita, so it becomes a respected military force in the region and the world.

In addition, according to him, the TNI should be able to adjust its posture to the maritime sector, and integrate with national and foreign policy.

"This is not to say that the TNI is involved in politics, but to keep the focus on defense roles rather than non-defense roles," he told media crews.

Such measures, according to him, need to be supported by adequate budgetary policies by civil and political elites, so that regional defense tasks can be done well.
