Government Immediately Applies Prepaid Card Registration with NIK

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo) will enforce a prepaid card registration validated by the Master Identification Number (NIK) starting October 31, 2017. This stipulation is regulated in Ministerial Regulation No. 12 of 2016 on Telecommunication Services Customer Registration.
Quoted from the official Ministry of Communication and Informatics page, this registration is a government effort in preventing misuse of customer numbers, especially prepaid subscribers.
The important points of the implementation of telecommunication service subscriber registration, namely validation of prospective customer data and old customers based on the Population Identity Number (NIK) and Family Card (KK) number recorded in the database of Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (DGP), Ministry of Home Affairs .
Registration can be done directly by prospective customers who purchase the starter card, as well as re-registration for old customers.
As for the impact of not doing the registration is the prospect cannot activate the starter card and blocking the old customer number gradually.
"Customers may contact the customer service of each telecommunication service provider regarding the registration info or to the Directorate General of Dukcapil Kemendagri for the demographic data, which will be valid from October 31, 2017," wrote the website kominfo.go.id.
How to register the starter card is done by sending a short message alias SMS to number 4444 with format NIK #K # #.
As for old customers with format # REP # NIK # KK #. The information must be in accordance with the NIK listed on the electronic Identity Card (e-KTP) and KK in order for the validation process to the Dukcapil DGS database to be successful.
After that, the registration process is declared successful if the data entered by prospective customers and old customers prepaid are validated.
However, if the data entered by prospective customers and old customers is not validated, then the customer must fill out a statement.
The letter states that all data submitted is true, so that prospective customers and old prepaid customers are responsible for all legal consequences.
After the validation process, the telecommunication service provider activates the customer number no later than 1x24 hours.
The telecommunication service provider shall be required to complete the re-registration of prepaid customers whose data has not been validated by February 28, 2018.
The telecommunication service provider shall submit a progress report on the re-registration process of prepaid subscribers every 3 months to the Indonesian Telecommunication Regulatory Body (BRTI) Ministry of Communication and Informatics during the re-registration period.
