INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - State Electricity Company (PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara / Perusahaan Listrik Negara / PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara / Perusahaan Listrik Negara / Perusahaan Listrik Negara / Persero) posted a 3.1 percent growth in national electricity sales until September 2017, compared to last year's sales in the same period.
"The total sales volume until September 2017 reached 163.6 terrawatt hour (TWh), September last year, the listed number is 158.6 TWh," said Head of Information and Communication Services Information and Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Dadan Kusdiana, in Jakarta (14/10/2017).
Dadan said the PLN report also mentions an increase in electricity sales by 2.8 percent in the West Java region where electricity sales volume this year until September reached 39.4 TWh, while last year in the same period only reached 38.3 TWh.
"West Java's electricity sales figure covers Banten Distribution and Greater Jakarta Distribution (Disjaya)," he explained.
He also revealed, PLN Distribution Banten even recorded an increase of more than 5 percent, precisely at the rate of 6.7 percent. Meanwhile, electricity sales of PLN Distribution Jakarta Raya (Disjaya) grew by 0.4 percent.
"This is in line with the increasing capacity of PLN power plants and additional capacity from private power plants in both areas, one of which is PLTU IPP Banten 660 MW operating in March 2017," added Dadan.
According to him, the increase in electricity sales of PLN is a positive signal that the Indonesian economy continues to grow well.
As known, PLN decided not to raise electricity tariffs for customers in order to support the interests of society and keep the business and industry sectors competitive.
