The President reviews the preparation of Silangit Airport, Siborong-borong to become an international airport on October 28, 2017, in addition the President also saw the view of Lake Toba from Hutaginjang Village.

"Cultural arts should also be displayed, along with facilities related to hotels, resorts, convention hall that must be built otherwise this infrastructure becomes useless later," added the President.

The infrastructure includes two new toll roads inaugurated by the President on Friday (13/10), namely the Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi highway for the Kualanamu-Sei Rampah segment along the 42 kilometer and Medan-Binjai toll road for the 10-year-long Helvatia-Semayang-Binjai , 46 kilometers.

"(Highway) from Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi is completed first, then it will be continued again, Insha Allah has started liberation, approximately 90-100 kilometers is as I recall, because (development) it is also in the series of development of special economic area in Lake Toba, there is Silangit Airport, repaired and expanded and there is a highway to get here, "added the President.

Lake Toba Tourism Area itself as a national tourism strategic area is under the Board of Management Authority Pariwistasa Lake Toba area which is chaired by the Coordinating Minister for the field of Kemaritiman currently held Luhut Binsar Panjaitan.

The body is supported by 7 districts around Lake Toba namely Dairi, Simalungun, Samosir, Humbang Hasundutan, Toba Samosir, Karo and Tapanuli Utara.
