INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The target of 20 million foreign tourists visit (Wisman) proclaimed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) requires the national tourism sector to continue to improve itself.

Improvement and improvement of various supporting facilities and infrastructures, as well as continued promotion by the Ministry of Tourism (Kempar) to be able to bring in foreign tourists visit to Indonesia.

"Such activities are very good, because in line with the ideals of the government to continue to encourage the tourism sector as the largest foreign exchange contributor to Indonesia," said Minister of Tourism (Menpar), Arief Yahya at the opening of seminar Indonesian Tourism Outlook (ITO) 2018 in Jakarta, 1/11/2017).

Arief said the government is hoping that the tourism sector becomes one of the leading sectors of foreign exchange donors. "In addition to beautiful nature, Indonesia is also awarded hospitality community, culture and various culinary that can be sold to attract foreign tourists," he added.

Meanwhile, economic observer, Faisal Basri, said tourism is one of the new prima donna is projected to have high growth ahead, with the potential and the prospect of the more bright.

"Therefore, the diversification of tourist destinations coupled with the addition of attraction is the key to bring in tourists, and the supporting industry's role must also be improved," Faisal said.

Senior Vice President of Government and Industry Affairs of World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Helen Marano, added, Indonesia's tourism sector has enormous potential.

"However, there is still a duty to flatten the distribution of tourist visits to come to other destinations that are still not optimally tilled," she added.
