INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The National Commission for Tobacco Control (Komnas PT) rejected the invitation of the Special Committee on the Draft Law on the General Meeting (Rembangan Pertembakauan) in a public hearing (RDPU) and only submitted a letter of rejection of the Bill.
"The rejection is absolute and in line with President Joko Widodo's instruction in a limited meeting on March 14, 2017 to no longer discuss the Bill of Pertembakauan," said Chairman of the National Commission of PT Dr dr Prijo Sidipratomo SpRad (K) via a message written Editor in Jakarta, Monday (10 / 7/2017)
Komnas PT was invited by the RDPU of the Special Committee on the Bill on Monday, together with health insurance, public health faculty and community health experts.
In addition to refusing to attend the invitation of the Special Committee on the Draft Bill, Komnas PT also supported the government to reject the draft law without listing the inventory issues (DIM).
"The main message that Komnas PT wishes to convey is that we and other community organizations consistently reject the draft bill, which has been reiterated many times in various forums," he said.
Therefore, the absence of the National Commission on RDPU held by the Special Committee on the Draft Law is a signal of insistence that the discussion of the draft law will no longer be continued.
Komnas PT only submit a letter of rejection of the draft of the bill in response to the invitation of RDPU which has been submitted to a special committee chaired by Golkar Party politician Firman Soebagyo.
