INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Minister of Communications and Informatics Rudiantara confirmed that the operator is responsible for the security of data re-registration of prepaid card customers.

"The data will be stored in the operator, the government has no right to access the data," said Rudiantara in the event of Siberkreasi Netizen Fair 2017 at Jalan Sudirman Jakarta. The data is guaranteed, protected because the government has issued a ministerial regulation on personal data protection in December 2016. , Sunday (5/11/2017)

The event was also attended by the community as well as a number of community citizens, prepaid card service providers and Vice Governor of DKI Jakarta Sandiaga Uno.

But the data can be accessed by law enforcement for legal processes.

"If from law enforcement officers will be opened anyway, so that law enforcement officers can be easier. Frequently with 'prepaid sim card' no information about who owns it, the search was so long because it must be from the operator, traced its traffic, searched where he doing conversations, sending data and so on but now it is easier because there is already data who he is," said Rudiantara.

Related to data security, Rudiantara requested that the public not to worry because there is already a law up to the minister of communications and informatics rules as a legal basis to maintain data confidentiality.

"There is a rule in the telecommunications law that operators should maintain data confidentiality and there are ministerial regulations regarding the use of personal data issued since December 2016. So the preparation of this re-registration is long, not recently, but socialization will also be done continuously. the minister, if there is a violation by the operator there will be administrative sanctions until revoked license," said Rudiantara added.
