Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Will Drill 15 Wells in Mahakam Block

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) will soon work on the Mahakam block early next year. Originally, the Mahakam Block will contribute 24 percent of total national oil and gas production.
The plan, the PHI will drill 15 wells in the Mahakam block next year when before, PHI has drilled 11 wells.
"We have drilled 11 wells in Tunu and Handil Field, from 15 wells to be drilled by Pertamina until 2018," said Bambang Manumayoso, Director of PHI, in Jakarta on Thursday (9/11/2017).
Especially for Mahakam, the IRC has prepared various strategies to maintain oil and gas production by ensuring the continuity of drilling and Well Intervention activities in the Mahakam working area during the transition from Total E & P Indonesie (TEPI) to Pertamina on January 1, 2018.
"We have also completed 5 Field Development plans (POFD) in 2017 to support drilling activities by 2018," said Bambang.
In addition, Bambang said, it also implemented optimization of rig and material procurement to support drilling activities. The Mahakam block management will be implemented by Pertamina Hulu Mahakam, a subsidiary of Pertamina Hulu Indonesia.
In addition to managing the Mahakam Block, Pertamina through PHI is also ready to manage several other termination blocks, such as Sanga-Attanga, and Central-K Integration.
