KPK Must Complete TSK Setya Novanto File

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jember - Director of Anti-Corruption Studies Center of Gadjah Mada University (Pukat UGM), Zainal Arifin Mochtar, said the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) should immediately complete the case files that make Setya Novanto a suspect.

"The important effort that must be done by the KPK first is to complete the files first," said Zainal on the sidelines of the National Conference of Constitutional Law in Jember, East Java, Sunday (12/11/2017)

This is according to Zainal not related to the concerns of some parties that Novanto will return pre-trial filed after his status was re-designated as a suspect.

"If you want the pretrial is another matter, even if you want to pretrial yes please only, because different judges would be different opinion," said Zainal.

Zainal further said that if the KPK immediately complete the file of the case of Novanto, then the case can also be immediately submitted to the court to enter the principal case.

"If the prosecutor has P21, yes have entered the principal case and so it will abort pretrial," said Zainal.

According to him, with the completeness of the case file, the KPK will make its position strong, so the debate related to the pretrial becomes another matter.

"The important thing is the file is complete, not about avoiding the pretrial because the pretrial is the right of the suspect and the decision of the Court has said it," said Zainal.
