400 Indonesian Citizens Successfully Evacuated from Myawaddy

400 Indonesian citizens (WNI) who were victims of online scam exploitation in Myawaddy, Myanmar, were successfully evacuated from the Myawaddy conflict area, Myanmar (17/3)
INDUSTRY.co.id - Bangkok, Thailand - 400 Indonesian citizens (WNI) who were victims of online scam exploitation in Myawaddy, Myanmar, were successfully evacuated from the Myawaddy conflict area, Myanmar (17/3).
The 400 Indonesians were crossed to Maesot town in Thailand through the 2nd Friendship Bridge. After going through the health screening process and the National Referral Mechanism, the Indonesian citizens departed by land for 9 hours using 9 buses to Bangkok Don Mueang Airport. Furthermore, they will be flown by charter aircraft to the country.
The 400 Indonesians consist of 313 men and 87 women. All of them are in good health. 5 women are pregnant. All of them come from 21 provinces where the provinces of origin are North Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, West Java, Jakarta, North Sulawesi.
The Protection of Indonesian Citizens Team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs along with the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok and Yangon and Hubinter Polri identified, escorted and accompanied them from Myawaddy to the homeland.
The smooth process of crossing Indonesian citizens from Myawaddy thanks to intensive coordination and full support from the Thai and Myanmar authorities.
All Indonesian citizens are scheduled to arrive at Soekarno Hatta Airport on 18 March 2025 at 09.00 WIB. The Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, Rachmat Budiman, directly led the repatriation to Jakarta.
While the next stage of efforts to cross the Indonesian citizens to Maesot around 154 will be carried out on 18 March 2025 and is planned to arrive in Jakarta on the morning of 1 March 2025.
