Agincourt Resources Opens Amphitheater of Sopo Daganak in South Tapanuli

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Martabe gold mine management firm PT Agincourt Resources inaugurated Sophi Daganak's new amphitheater building with a capacity of 500 spectators at Jalan 2 Desa Napa, Batangtoru District, South Tapanuli on Saturday (18/11/2017).

In his speech, Ed Cooney, General Manager of Operations of PT Agincourt Resources, stated that the construction of this amphitheater building is a form of Martabe Gold Mining's concern in implementing its corporate CSR program in the field of education and preservation of cultural arts of mining communities.

According to Ed Cooney, Sopo Daganak amphitheater building will be an educational center and a useful cultural activity to support activities in order to foster the artistic, social and cultural creativity of the community, especially children in Batangtoru and Muara Batangtoru areas.

Not only that, Sopo Daganak amphitheater building can also be a very representative arena for holding seminars, training, cultural festivals or exhibitions for local people.

"Sopo Daganak will be an arena to hold various activities, such as performing arts, culture and community skills in Batangtoru and Muara Batangtoru Subdistricts," said Ed Cooney.

Amphitheater according to Ed is also designed and built by local contractors in Batangtoru in approximately 4 months since the first stone laying on July 19, 2017 ago. This amphitheater building work can be completed well by contractors involving dozens of local workers around Batangtoru.

"This proves that there is an increase in the capability and expertise of local workers in Batangtoru in terms of specific construction work that can now compete with contractors from provincial and national levels," he said.

This amphitheater building consists of a main atrium, stage and supporting facilities that will continue to be equipped with a library, children's playground and secretariat for all Taman Baca Anak (TBA) in the mine ring village.
