F-Nasdem Suggests Setya Novanto Resigns As House Speaker

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The House of Representatives (DPRD) Parliament Fraction suggested that Setya Novanto resign from his position as Speaker of the House so that the concerned can focus on his legal problems, and the authority of the People's Legislative Assembly is maintained.

"We suggest that Mr. Novanto submit his resignation in order to face the problems he faces," said Secretary of the Parliamentary Party Fraction NasDem Syarief Abdullah Alkadrie, in Jakarta, Wednesday (22/11/2017)

He submitted all decisions related to Novanto to the Golkar Party but should be prioritized for the continuity of duties and performance of the House and maintain the authority of the institution.

Syarief believes that Golkar as a large political party will take strategic policy for the good of the House of Representatives.

"We leave it to Golkar and I think Mr. Novanto will be heartened," he said again.

But Syarief does not agree if the problems faced by Novanto are brought in the Court of Honor Council (MKD) because this is a matter of non-political law.

According to him, if the process is run in MKD instead of raising the credibility of the House but causing chaos, there must be differences of opinion with the case of Novanto.

"Because it will be a debate, there is consent and no, so it can happen things we do not want," he also told the media crew.

He said that in Law No. 17 of 2014 on MPR, DPR, DPD, and DPRD (Act of MD3), the Chairman of the House of Representatives resigned if he became a defendant.

But according to him, we must know that this institution should be maintained marwahnya, so it is impossible to force Mr. Novanto undertake the duties of servitude.
