INDUSTRY.co.id - Banda Aceh - The government continues to strive to provide cheap electricity for the community through various efforts.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ignasius Jonan said, to realize cheap electricity, the construction of power plants must be near energy sources.
"It means that the Steam Power Plant (PLTU) must be built close to the coal mine and the Gas Power Plant (PLTG) must be in the gas well," said Jonan in Banda Aceh, Friday (7/21/2017).
Jonan explained that the construction of the required power plant near the mine and the gas estuary is one of the government's commitments to realize the energy of justice and to the people.
According to Jonan, if the plant is built with energy sources near energy sources, it can save costs. So it has a positive impact on the cost that MUST be paid by the community.
Jonan hopes that renewable energy entrepreneurs can provide competitive prices for energy. Therefore, the price of renewable energy, so far, is more expensive than fossil energy. "We hope the price is affordable and competitive," said Jonan.
