ETHICA Pharmaceutical Industry Inaugurates Injection Drug Factory in Jababeka

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT ETHICA Pharmaceutical Industries inaugurated the operation of a sterile injectable drug factory equipped with the latest pharmaceutical technology. The plant is built on an area of ​​4.3 hectares with an investment of Rp1 trillion is located in Jababeka Industrial Estate, Cikarang, West Java.

The factory will produce injections in the form of ampoules and vials by using aseptic technology and final sterilization. Currently, there are 230 employees working in the new factory.

The factory was inaugurated by prof. Dr. dr. Nila Farid Moeloek, Sp. M (K), the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and Ir. Airlangga Hartarto, MBA, MMT, Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, together with Indrawati Taurus, President Director of PT ETHICA Pharmaceutical Industry and Gerrit Steen, Fresenius Kabi Board Member & President Region Asia.

PT Ethica Industri Pharmaceuticals is a pharmaceutical joint venture, between SOHO Global Health and Fresenius Kabi AG. Meanwhile, PT SOHO Global Health is a local company which is the holding company of PT ETHICA Pharmaceutical Industry. The Fresenius Kabi AG is a German company in the field of health that specifically produces drugs and infusion technology, transfusions and clinical nutrition.

In his speech, Indrawati Taurus said, PT ETHICA Pharmaceutical Industry is committed to give full support to the National Health Insurance (JKN) program as an effort to provide healthcare products of global quality and affordable for the people of Indonesia.

PT ETHICA Pharmaceutical Industry supports the government's vision of making Indonesia a production for pharmaceutical products in the Asian market and contributes to the development of the injection drug industry in Indonesia which grew an average of 11% per year, Indrawati said.

In 2016, the new factory of PT ETHICA Pharmaceutical Industries has obtained Pharmaceutical Industry license from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and Good Manufacturing Certificate (CPOB) from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

The plant has commenced commercial operations since early October 2017. The Innovation and Development Center has been established to develop more diverse drug injection products with the latest formulas. (Abraham Sihombing)
