INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Vice Chairman of Commission VII of the House of Representatives Fadel Muhammad stated that the banking law in the case of foreign and local banks is still being under pressure by councils.

"The main thing is the separation of national and foreign banks, foreign banks are given a chance to grow, but some places are limited to the sub-district level. The national local banks are also given opportunities to grow," he said at the Indonesia Best Banking Brand Award held Warta Ekonomi in Jakarta, Wednesday (29/11/2017).

While banking law is being pushed, he encourages banks to innovate. The innovation is to maintain the growth of sound national banking. Especially in the case of digital banking technology.

"I convey the challenges ahead need innovation, friends realize the absolute requirement of banking to keep the existing growth," he said.

In the data he holds, some banks have prepared a budget that is not small to poured in technology investment.

"Incredible development, an important innovation, is reported to be national banking and BUMN banks need to be encouraged, BNI plans to prepare Rp1.5 trillion for technology, Bank Mandiri prepares Rp1.6 trillion, Bank BCA prepares Rp 4 trillion for expansion of information technology ," he said.
