National Heavy Equipment Industry Demonstrate Positive Performance

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto said the acceleration of infrastructure development continues to be encouraged by the government to make the performance of heavy equipment industry has improved significantly in 2017.

Referring to data from the Indonesian Heavy Equipment Association (Hinabi), production of heavy equipment until the first quarter of 2017 reached 1,152 units, up 87% compared to the same period last year.

In fact, Hinabi projected until the end of 2017, the production of heavy equipment will reach 4,400 units.

"It is estimated that the needs of heavy equipment will continue to increase in line with the increase in infrastructure development and commodity processing, both mining, plantation and forestry," Airlangga Hartarto said in Jakarta on Wednesday (13/12/2017).

He added that heavy equipment industry is needed in order to support the activities of the economic sector.

"The heavy equipment industry is also a supporter of mining industry activities, forest land processing and other infrastructure development," he said

According to Airlangga, Indonesia is in urgent need of heavy equipment, especially in order to increase the production capacity of mining, forest processing and infrastructure development.

"This is evidence that Indonesia is a good investment location for the heavy equipment industry," he concluded.
