INDUSTRY.co.id - Abu Dhabi - German rider Nico Rosberg won the 2016 Formula 1 World Championship title for the first time on Sunday (27/11) after finishing second in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix won by Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton.

After all the tension and hope, this race presents Hamilton with his tenth victory of the season, and the fourth time in a row, but he is powerless to head off his team mate to seal the title despite having put out all the effort.

He attempted to push Rosberg behind him, deliberately slowing down at the closing rounds that left the team's anxious teams, producing a tight finish in which four top riders were just 1.6 seconds behind.

Rosberg, who only needs to finish in the top three to secure the world title, retains his position to become the third world champion of his country after Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel.
