During 2017, Surabaya Visited by 24 Million Tourists

INDUSTRY.co.id - Surabaya - Department of Culture and Tourism of Surabaya City states the level of tourist visits to the City of Heroes during 2017 reached 24 million people.

Head of Culture and Tourism Service (Disbudpar) Surabaya Widodo Suryantoro, in Surabaya, Sunday (17/12/2017) said the increasing number of tourist visits, not separated from tourism potential and some interesting tourist destinations owned by Surabaya.

"The city of Surabaya has an attraction for local and foreign tourists to come to visit," he said.

In addition, he continued, this is also because the City Government of Surabaya often hold activities of national scale that suck public interest such as Rujak Uleg Festival, Culture and Flower Parade and others.

According to him, the charm of Surabaya as a tourist visit can be seen from the number of tourist visits that continues to grow each year.

In fact, he continued, this year there is a big jump in the number of tourist visits to Surabaya. For the year 2017, the number of tourist arrivals coming to Surabaya far exceeded the target.

"In previous years, when entering December, the number of tourist visits on average only 17-19 million people, but this year reached 24 million people," he said.

For that, he added, it will continue to increase tourist arrivals to the city of Surabaya in 2018 by holding a more interesting and creative activities.

In addition, he added, it will also optimize the cultural heritage buildings that have historical value in the City of Hero in order to become the target of tourists, especially foreign countries.
