INDUSTRY.co.id - Bali - Bank Indonesia Governor Agus Martowardojo projected inflation rate until the third week of December 2017 to be in the range of 0.42 percent.
"This December the third week is in the range of 0.42 percent," said Agus when found in Bali, Saturday (23/12/2017)
Agus said the inflation rate in this period is still contributed by rising food prices such as chicken eggs and chili.
Although the inflation rate increases towards the end of the year, Agus believes the national inflation rate throughout 2017 is in the range of 3.0 to 3.5 percent.
"In a year still below 3.5 percent, in line with inflation we estimate 3.0 to 3.5 percent," he said.
Earlier, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) recorded inflation rate in November 2017 of 0.20 percent, triggered by rising food prices such as red peppers, onions and rice.
Thus, the inflation rate for calendar year of January-November 2017 reached 2.87 percent and year-on-year inflation of 3.3 percent. The inflation rate in 2017 is still below the assumption set by the government in the 2017 APBNP of 4.3 percent.
Meanwhile, the inflation rate in December 2016 was recorded at 0.42 percent or the lowest since 2010 in the same period.
