GMF President Director AeroAsia Iwan Joeniarto in a press release received in Jakarta yesterday said that cooperation with the Australian company is one of GMF's "International Footprint" business expansion strategies.

"We sincerely hope that this strategic partnership will be able to smooth the expansion of GMF abroad, especially for Australia area which has a high potential of care market," said Iwan.

The signing of the strategic partnership contract is a follow up of a memorandum of understanding signed on June 2, 2017.

In signing the contract, GMF and KORR Group agreed to cooperate in the "Line Maintenance" work for Boeing 737, Boeing 787, Airbus A320 and Airbus A330 aircraft.

The next step of the signing of this strategic partnership is to realize this cooperation in 2018. For initial cooperation GMF and KORR Group will work together on "Line Maintenance" jobs in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.

"This cooperation is expected to be a gateway to attract Australian-dominated airlines to conduct fleet maintenance on this partnership," he said.

Meanwhile, Director of Line Operation GMF, Tazar Marta Kurniawan said, after Batam and South Korea, Australia became the third area explored, and immediately followed the Middle East area.

Previously, GMF has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Muan Regional Government, South Korea, and TWA Aero Limited.

"According to GMF's strategic plan to develop MRO facilities in the East Asia region, we chose South Korea as an appropriate international footprint," said Director of Operations GMF Tazar Marta Kurniawan in a press release received here Thursday 7/12).

According to him, the signing of a memorandum of understanding or MoU is considered to be a new bright spot in GMF's international development strategy.

The signing of this MoU is one of the agenda in GMF's management visit series to South Korea in December 2017, where GMF also holds initial meetings with other potential partners, as well as visits to South Korean carrier customers of GMF.

According to Tazar Marta, South Korea's election as a development area in East Asia with consideration of South Korean aircraft maintenance market is quite promising.
