BP Cooperates with AKR Corporindo to Build 350 Gas Station This Year

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - British company Protelum (BP), together with PT AKR Corporindo Tbk, will work together to develop the fuel oil business this year by building around 350 Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBUs) up to 10 years into the future.
AKR Corporindo President Director Haryanto Adikoesomo said at the initial stage 17 gas stations will be built in Jakarta, Surabaya and Bandung by marketing Biosolar and BBM with research octane number (RON) 92.
"It's nonsubsidized, Just biosolar and RON 92," Haryanto said when met at the Office of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Jakarta, Monday (8/1/2018).
Since last year AKR has agreed on the establishment of a joint venture as the realization of cooperation with BP BP AKR Fuels Retail. BP itself can utilize the AKR infrastructure in Indonesia and the company's track record in the fuel business.
Haryanto said AKR welcomed the government's decision that has set the company into a business entity, other than PT Pertamina (Persero) in the distribution of certain types of fuel or diesel in the next five years. With the decision helped the company in planning business expansion and future investment.
"With this certainty there will be an investment every year. This is according to the direction of the Minister (Ignatius Jonan) so that more gas stations in Indonesia," said Haryanto.
BP currently operates a Tangguh liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in West Papua. In addition, BP is also involved in the production of coal seam methane and petrochemical plant through BP Petrochemical Indonesia and marketing Castrol lubricants.
