INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti said that the export condition of Indonesian fishery commodities is still better than other countries in the global economic downturn.

"Export, although down, but compared to other countries is much better," said Minister Susi in a press conference at the Office of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), Jakarta, Thursday (11/2/2017)

Susi Pudjiastuti also reminded that at this time in Indonesian waters area, the amount of fish stocks increased so that catches also increased and the exchange rate of fishermen and cultivators also increased, which means that the amount of income they received now also increased compared to before.

All these things, she said, also support the performance of the marine and fisheries sector in order to improve and improve the Indonesian economy to continue to increase.

Meanwhile, Director General of Strengthening Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products KKP Nilanto Perbowo stated that the decrease of export volume does not affect the increase of export value per year.

That, Nilanto said, because every year there is a factor of rising export prices and fishery products have added value.

In addition, it is revealed that the average of products that fall in export volume is a product with a relatively low price. (Ant)
