INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) issued facts and data that the use of energy for the lighting of Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK) can save 50 percent of power pasca renovation.

Through the data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in Jakarta, Monday (15/1/2018), the stadium is illuminated by a 3500 lux or three times brighter than before. However, GBK lighting is 50 percent more efficient because it uses LED lights instead of conventional lights, with 610 sets of lights connected to a powerful 80,000 watt PMPO sound system, so the movement of the lights can be in tune with the music being played.

The new face of GBK is followed by a new system of electricity supply. The stadium features a solar panel with a capacity of 420 kWp which is capable of generating an average of 1,470 kWh / day. Complementing the main source of stadium energy derived from solar power, GBK electricity is also connected to a power source from PLN and generator.

Lighting previously using metal halide technology, takes about 15 minutes to warm up before it can be turned on, now with LEDs can function as interactive dynamic lighting.

Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo through his Facebook account also mentioned that the stadium is one of the stadiums with the best lighting in the world. The statement is not without reason. In addition to being environmentally friendly as it uses Solar Power Generation (PLTS) as its main source of electricity, GBK has also used the highest standard Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights recognized by the World Football Federation (FIFA) and the international athletics federation (IAAF).

Several other recent changes, the stadium that opened in 1962, the change of seat audience into a single seat so that the capacity to be 76,000 seats.

GBK's main stadium currently also has four dressing rooms each with a coach room, lounge area, dressing room, bathroom with toilet, "shower sink", a tub with hot and cold options, and a massage room.

GBK also comes with a media room that is made comfortable so that the reporters can even use it as a mini studio and temporary office. (Ant)
