Ministry of Agriculture Focuses on Helping the Agriculture of the Poor

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman said in 2018, it will focus on providing agricultural assistance for the poor.

"In the future, the focus is on the welfare of the people," said Amran while giving a briefing to the National Working Meeting (Rakernas), to direct the entire directorate general to provide assistance to our rural relatives, to 17 million recipients of literature (prosperous rice) Kementan 2018 in Jakarta, Monday (15/1/2018)

Assistance, continued Amran, can be either seeds of plants or livestock are given free.

He also instructed his staff to do the planning to distribute chickens, rabbits, and cows to the community cannot afford.

"For example, if there are households that receive the literature, we give 10-30 chickens to their households (if kept) could be 50. There are 10 million chickens we distributed in 2018," he said.

For the poor people working in the agricultural sector, Amran said, will also receive the help of agricultural machinery. Thus, the farmers who used to harvest the crops with the sickle can increase their production to encourage income.

"Even if they do not have a farmer's group, make it! We'll pick up the ball," he said.

The Rakernas of the Ministry of Agriculture in 2018 with the theme "Lifting of Farmers' Welfare" was attended by around 1,700 participants consisting of Kementan Local Government Work Unit (SKPD), representatives from related ministries / agencies to the Corruption Eradication Commission (Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi / KPK), Danrem and Dandim
