INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Directorate General of Agro Industry at the Ministry of Industry Panggah Susanto wants the performance of fish processing industry in various regions to be continuously improved as an effort to increase the value added of national marine and fishery products.
"For frozen fish, fish 'filet', frozen shrimp and other fish processing industries should be improved again," said Panggah Susanto in Jakarta, Friday (19/1/2018)
Panggah wants for the fish processing industry as related to tuna and canned sardines can continue to rise above 13 percent growth.
This, he added, for commodity processing of fishery sector can also support national economic growth targeted more than 5.5 percent.
Previously, President Joko Widodo asked the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) to increase the production of the fishery industry.
"Now the concentration is for the fish processing industry, especially those that encourage the export of fish, because our exports are down," said the President met in Jakarta on Wednesday (10/1).
He explained that his direction had been submitted to the Minister of KKP Susi Pudjiastuti.
According to the President, he supports all efforts to increase the production of fisheries in Indonesia, both capture and cultivation. (Ant)
