30 Years, Toyota Successfully Exports 1.1 Million Units of Car
INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Toyota's exports from Indonesia rose 29.51 percent during 2017 from 2016 or 116,971 units. With this achievement, Toyota contributes 51.04 percent to the total volume of completely built up (CBU) exports from the country.
The sport utility vehicle model recorded the highest volume. Toyota Fortuner incised a volume of 69,589 units or 59.49 percent of the company's achievements. Then followed sedan Vios 23,414 units or 20.02 percent and multipurpose vehicle (innova 18705 units) or 15.99 percent.
Recorded there are 80 countries destination Toyota over the past year. The plan, PT Toyota Motors Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), a Toyota assembler company in Indonesia, will add three export destinations this year, namely countries in South Africa, Laos and Myanmar. But the new destination country does not necessarily boost production significantly.
TMMIN Vice President Director Edward Otto Kanter said that over the past year, there were new challenges from destination countries in the Middle East region. Demand from the region declined due to pressure on oil prices. However, the shipment of CBU Toyota Indonesia was helped by the growth of the motor vehicle market in Southeast Asia.
