INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, the Government continues to spur the development of aircraft maintenance and repair, maintenance and overhaul (MRO) industries in Indonesia.

This is because there is still a lot of potential development of this industry which is integrated with several airports in the country.

The government through the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) projected the potential of MRO industry business in Indonesia in 2025 will reach USD2, 2 billion, a significant increase compared to 2016 amounted to USD970 million.

But do you know how many MRO companies are currently operating in Indonesia?

In fact, to care for 1,500 planes in Indonesia, only 4 MROs are practically credible and quite credible. MRO which has been established and has been certified by FAA USA and European Audit Safety Association (EASA), GMF AeroAsia (GMF) which has been almost 25 years standing.

Some foreign airlines have also entrusted their maintenance to GMF, besides GMF to take care of Garuda Indonesia aircraft, ranging from mild A check, B check, C check, up to D check. Some of GMF's customers include Lion Air, Sriwijaya Air, foreign airlines such as KLM Netherlands, Kabo Air Nigeria, PIA Pakistan, and several cargo wide body aircraft from abroad.

Lion air also has MRO in Batam special for internal So also Pelita water have MRO in Pondok Cabe, serving majority of Pelita Air fleet, majority of Fokker 100 and narrow body plane.

Merpati Maintenance Facilities (MMF) in Surabaya can still grow, specially treating Fokker 27, F 28, and some of its clients from the Philippines. MMF also has certification from Europe.
