SCI: Professional Certification Become a Logistics Company Requirement

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) gives serious attention in the development of human resource competence (HR) logistics sector. Kemenhub also gave appreciation and recognition of the certification of competence of human resources as an effort to improve the competitiveness of logistics service providers.
It can be seen in the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation (Permenhub) PM No. 49 of 2017 on the Implementation and Management of Transportation Services issued on July 6, 2017.
In the Permenhub, among others, mention the administrative and technical requirements in the granting of business licenses and transportation services (JPT). The Permenhub stipulates that one of the administrative requirements is to have expert Indonesian citizens certified minimum Diploma III of shipping or Maritime or Aviation or Transportation or IATA Diploma or FIATA Diploma, Bachelor Degree Logistics or union Professional Competence in the field of Forwarder or Supply Chain Management or Expert Union Customs or port.
Chairman of Supply Chain Indonesia (SCI), Setijadi said that one of the competency certification that can be an alternative to fulfill the requirement is a professional competence certificate 'Supply Chain manager'.
"The certification is an official certification of logistics field that is recognized nationally because based on the scheme of Indonesian National Work Competence Standards (SKKNI), certification is issued by National Agency for Professional Certification (BNSP) through Professional Certification Institute (LSP)," said Setijadi To INDUSTRY.co.id in Jakarta, Tuesday (1/8/2017).
He added that at this time the training to follow the certification was held by Supply Chain Indonesia (SCI), while the certification of LSP by Logan Insan prime.
According to him, the recognition of the competency certification of the logistics sector will grow into recognition by the ASEAN countries as well as in a wider scope.
In addition to fulfilling one of the requirements of the JPT business license, certification is required to improve and maintain the quality or competence of logistics HR. This is very important in an effort to improve the competitiveness of companies, both logistics service providers and logistics actors such as manufacturers and retailers.
"Companies such as hotels and restaurants meupun health agencies also require personnel who have supply chain competence to improve efficiency and effectiveness logistics," said Setijadi.
