INDUSTRY.co.id - Manado- The visit of foreign tourists (tourists) to the province of North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi) is still dominated by China, after the direct rental aircraft from the country to Manado.

"Foreign tourists from China still dominate the tourist visit to North Sulawesi of 3,380 which is about 72.25 percent of the total coming to this area," said Head of Central Statistics Agency (BPS) North Sulawesi Moh Edy Mahmud in Manado, Tuesday (1/8/2017 )

Edy said the increase in Chinese tourists is due to aircraft rental initiated by the Government of North Sulawesi Province with China.

He said besides China also followed by Malaysia as many as 336 people and 151 Americans.

He explained the number of foreign tourists coming to North Sulawesi through the entrance of Samrat Airport in June 2017 as many as 4858 people or a slowdown of 16.30 percent when compared to May 2017 of 5,589 people.

However, he said, when compared with the visit of foreign tourists in the same month of the previous year in June 2016 as many as 1,295 people or an increase of 261.24 percent.

"We expect the visit of foreign tourists to North Sulawesi will be more and more, because it will be able to generate foreign exchange for the country," he explained.
