President Jokowi Congratu;ates Happy International Women's Day

INDUSTRY.co.id - Gresik - President Joko Widodo congratulated International Women's Day which falls on March 8, 2018 in front of the recipients of social assistance in the form of Smart Indonesia Card, Hope Family Program, and Bansos of Rice Raw Food (Rastra).

"Last I want to congratulate International Women's Day to the mothers who are present here, to all Indonesian women I am proud of and respect," said President at GOR Tri Dharma Gresik, East Java on Thursday (8/3/2018).

The President was accompanied by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendi and a number of other relevant officials.

"Once again Happy International Women's Day, happy work for a more peaceful, prosperous life and an increasingly just life," added the President.

March 8, 2018 is commemorated as International Women's Day which was originally based on a demonstration of women in New York, USA on March 8, 1908.

Proponents of the movement are women workers in garment factories demanding rights of opinion and politics.

However, the new United Nations commemorated International Women's Day on March 8, 1975.
