Rudiantara: Tumblr Can Be Reopened If It Is Clean

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Minister of Communications and Informatics Rudiantara said it would reopen the Tumblr site if the site has cleared pornographic content in it. He said the reason for closing the site is because Tumblr ignored the warning from the Ministry of Communications and Informatics.

"It's been warned to be cleaned up, but not do. So, yes, already, in-block. When it is cleaned, it will be opened again. Enough ngotorin (Internet) Indonesia," said Rudiantara not long ago.

The reason the Ministry closed sites containing immoral content, said Rudiantara, to protect the public from the dangers of pornography. "We have a record of who the platform is cooperative and uncooperative. So do not blame me if i continue to block it," he said.

Director General of Applications and Informatics of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics Semuel Pangarepan said, until now, the Tumblr has not responded to the blocking done by the Ministry. Semuel said, if according to Tumblr important Indonesian market, the letter will be responded. "E-mail is enough, baseball need to come here," he said.

As is known, the Ministry of Communications and Information has received reports on negative content spread in cyberspace as much as 8,575 reports during January 2018.
