Minister Jonan Asks Minerba Business Actor to Create CSR Program

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ignatius Jonan asked the minerals and coal companies (minerba) able to create a social responsibility program (CSR) that can create jobs.
"The concept of CSR for the book is the old way, but what we are asking is able to help the local people's economy, that is the job field," said Jonan at the ESDM Ministry office, Jakarta, Wednesday (14/3/2018).
Jonan gave an explanation at least the CSR program was able to raise the local wisdom of the area of the mining business area.
He wants not only the mining companies that get a profit but the surrounding community can also feel the immediate impact of the exploitation activities.
"Natural Resources is nothing that can be owned by the private sector, it is all belonging to the state, where the benefits are also for the prosperity of society," he said.
During the meeting, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Ignasius Jonan, accompanied by Director General of Minerals and Coal Bambang Gatot Ariyono, also signed 6 (six) copies of the Work Contract Amendment at the ESDM Ministry office in Jakarta.
The signing of this amendment is an implementation of the mandate of Article 169 of Law No. 4 of 2009 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining which states that the Coal Contract of Work and Work Agreement of Coal Mining Concession (PKP2B) which existed before the coming into force of the Act shall remain valid until the expiry of the contract and the provisions contained in the COW and PKP2B articles are adjusted, except for state revenue which is an effort to increase state revenue.
With the signing of 6 Amendments to this CoW, the total Contract of Work which has been amended to date is 28 Contract of Work. The KKs that signed the amendment were 1 generation IV, 3 Generation VI and 2 Generation VII with the following details:
1. PT Natarang Mining (Lampung Province)
2. PT Kalimantan Surya Kencana (Central Kalimantan Province)
3. PT Weda Bay Nickel (North Maluku Province)
4. PT Mindoro Tiris Emas (South Sumatera Province)
5. PT Masmindo Dwi Area (South Sulawesi Province)
6. PT Agincourt Resources (North Sumatera Province)
In renegotiating the contract amendments, both sides of the Government and the company are based on good faith, and the spirit to contribute to national development for the greatest prosperity of the people.
Broadly speaking there are 6 (six) strategic issues that are amended, namely the Agreement Territory, Mining Operation Continuation, State Revenue, Processing and Purification Obligations, Divestment Obligations, and Obligations of the Use of Manpower, Domestic Goods and Services.
The amendment shall be conducted by amending the articles, adding and deleting several articles in accordance with the provisions of Law Number 4 Year 2009 and its derivative regulations and related legislation.
