INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi proposed that the leave with Lebaran 2018 can be advanced earlier to reduce the potential congestion that often occurs in the momentum.
Budi after the India-Indonesia Infrastructure Forum (IIIF) in Jakarta, Monday (19/3/2018) said it has coordinated with the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) to propose that the holiday could be advanced two to three days more early.
"We also want to coordinate with the PAN-RB Ministry to make the children's holiday two or three days early so that if they want to go home (not going home) in H-1 but from H-7 or H-8 so as to provide relaxation, or pressure (congestion) is reduced, "he told the media crew,
Budi said during this congestion during Idul Fitri claimed due to the lack of holiday time given by the government. As a result, many people go home and back Lebaran in the time adjacent to the day of H.
The government usually stipulates a two-day leave of absence before and after the day of H. With the count, then there is about a week Lebaran holiday. In that time period, most people will use relatively the same time to go back and forth due to the lack of available holidays.
In addition to coordinating with the Ministry of PAN-RB, Budi said it also coordinates with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing and police and other stakeholders to succeed Lebaran this year.
He hopes that coordination by the government will make the momentum of Lebaran holiday can run smoothly with good preparation.
"Mudik is a challenging mandate for me, therefore we, Kemenhub, prepare well," he concluded.
