Gatot Nurmantyo Acknowledges to be Offered by Prabowo Subianto to Enter Gerindra Party

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Former TNI Commander General Gatot Nurmantyo admitted to being offered the Chairman of Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto to join the party bearing the head of the eagle.

"He said if I want to join, I will (Prabowo, Red) open," said Gatot, during a discussion with the mass media, in South Jakarta, Thursday (29/3/2018) night.

The former Army Chief of Staff said the statement was delivered Prabowo Subianto when met with him some time ago.

"I said then, sir I have not talked about that problem, as a statesman and a patriot, you must have the same answer as me, if you are asked, not practical politics," said the former Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command.

The name Gatot Nurmantyo is known to often appear on several surveys, stating that he became one of the figures supported by the public to become presidential candidate in the 2019 election.

Until now, Gatot has not given a firm answer about his desire to advance in the upcoming presidential election or not.

According to him, the current status is still active as a TNI soldier, so it cannot be politics.

Gatot will retire in April 2018.
