INDUSTRY.co.id - Denpasar - Representative Office of Bank Indonesia Bali Province encourages banks and business actors in the local area to optimize the use of non-cash transactions because nationally most of the turnover is still in cash.
"From the business side, 78 percent of them do not yet have cash handling, mostly cash transactions," said the Head of the Division of Rupiah Payment System and Money Management, Bank Indonesia Service and Administration Teguh Setiadi in the socialization of non-national national movement in Denpasar, Tuesday (3/4/2018)
According to him, the results are obtained from a survey conducted by BI Central to the business world throughout Indonesia.
As for in Bali, Teguh added that the use of electronic money for transactions is also still not optimal.
One of them is caused by the ceiling or bank balance given to "merchant" or shop that is cooperated is considered limited so that the sale and refill of electronic money is not optimal.
"While 'merchant' is also less to encourage the use of electronic money for transactions to consumers when there is already a transaction machine," he said.
To that end, it continues to socialize non-cash transactions, especially using electronic money in stores so it is expected to become a culture for the people to get used to using non-cash transactions.
Currently, he added, the utilization of non-cash transactions with 100 percent electronic money can only be applied in the Mandara Bali toll.
However, there are still some users of toll services that do not have electronic money, including the balance is less.
To that end, banks and toll operators have set up a unit of refill outlets and electronic money purchases with services without dropping from vehicles or "drive thru" at the toll road intersections precisely on the road to Benoa Harbor. (Ant)
